OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, JANUARY 14, 2009:

Mary A. Goff, age 69, a longtime resident of Hobart passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2009. She was born on January 11, 1940 in New Chicago, Indiana, the daughter of Nolan and Margaret Heimes. Mary was a 1958 graduate of Hobart High School. She was married to John M. Goff on July 4, 1965 in Lake Station and they have celebrated 43 years of marriage. Mary was employed by the School City of Hobart for 23 years as a matron on the special education bus. Mary loved to watch movies and was a wonderful wife and mother.

Mary is survived by her loving family: husband, John M. Goff, Hobart; sons, Thomas Goff, Lake Station, Edward Goff, Hobart, and Toney Goff, Hobart; sister, Maria Heimes, CA; and other loving family and dear friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her son John Morris Goff, Jr., and sister Marjorie Westerland.

A visitation for Mary Goff will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Rees Funeral Home Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2009 at Rees Funeral Home. Burial will be at Calumet Park Cemetery. Memorials in Mary's memory may be made to the Goff family.
