OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, JULY 8, 2008:

Robert L. Jones, age 81, of Valparaiso, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2008, at his home with family members at his side. Robert was a graduate of Hobart High School, Class of 1945. He was a World War II veteran and member of Local #406 for 20 years. Robert and his wife were the former owners of Park-it Mart in Merrillville.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, C. Louise (Herzog) Jones; and his sister, Shirley Stewart of Hemet, CA. He is survived by his sons: Robert L. (Sue) Jones, Jr. and Richard C. Jones, both of Valparaiso; three grandchildren: Kate, Kevin and David; two brothers: Herbert (Mary) Jones of Valparaiso and Gene Jones of Santa Monica, CA.

Private services were held for the family with cremation following at the Burns Funeral Home and Crematory. There was no visitation. Contributions in Robert's memory may be made to the Arthur B. & Ethel V. Horton VNA Hospice Center, 501 Marquette Street, Valparaiso, IN 46383. www.burnsfuneral.com
