Richard “Dick” C. Julian, age 80 of Crown Point, passed away on March 2, 2009. He was a graduate of Hobart High School and attended Ball State University. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and was a member of American Legion Post #20. Dick served as a board member for Center Township and the Lake County Agricultural Society. He also served on the Lake County Fair Board of Directors.

He was preceded in death by brothers – Ralph, Jr. and Harry and sisters – Betty Fisher and Joan Lee. Dick is survived by his wife – Dixie Julian of Crown Point; daughter – Jaye (William) Recupido of Lowell; granddaughter – Jessie Rose Smock of Lowell; brothers – Jack (Carol) Julian of FL, and Robert (Randy) Julian of Valparaiso; sisters – Rachel (Kris) Kristophel of Hobart and Judith (Eugene) Hollingsworth of Portage; numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2009 at 6 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, Rev. Doug Klukken officiating.   Cremation will precede the service. Friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home prior to the service from 5-6 p.m.
