John Ksenak - Class Of 1951

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, FEBRUARY 27, 2008:

John F. Ksenak, age 75, of Hobart passed away February 25, 2008 at the VNA Hospice in Valparaiso. He was a graduate of Hobart High School and a retired employee of NIPSCO. John enjoyed planting and harvesting his vegetable garden.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian and his parents Joseph and Helen Ksenak. He is survived by four children: John (Carla) Ksenak of Hobart, Cheryl (Paul) Wheeler of Palm Harbor, FL, James (Judy) Ksenak of Valparaiso and Gerald (Kerry) Ksenak of Hobart; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers: Mike Ksenak of Miller, Joseph (Agnes) Ksenak, Jr. of Martinsville, IN and Frank (Janice) Ksenak of Hobart; sisters: Monica (Will) Wiley and Irene Mockaitis of Hobart; sister-in-law Ruby Mohr of Walkerton, IN, brother-in-law George Dettweiler of Hobart, numerous nieces and nephews, and best friends Eddie and Carolyn Cicillian of Hobart.

Funeral service will be Friday, February 29, 2008 at 10a.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church, 207 Kelly St., Hobart, IN. Rev. Charles Strietelmeier officiating. John will lie in state at the church from 9-10a.m. Interment at Evergreen Memorial Park, Hobart. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, February 28, 2008 from 2-8p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th St., Hobart. Donations in John's memory may be made to VNA Hospice, 501 Marquette St., Valparaiso, IN 46368.
