OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, MARCH 26, 2007:

SANDRA (JONES) MIECZNIKOWSKI LADD Floyds Knobs, IN Formerly Gary & Hobart, IN Age 67, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2007. Sandra was a graduate of Hobart High School. She was a former employee of Stanley Coal & Oil (E & N Pump) and Navajo Freight Lines. She was most recently employed at the American Legion in Floyds Knobs. Sandra was a member of Delta Sigma Chi Sorority.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Miecznikowski, Jr., in 1980, and her second husband, Larry Ladd, in 2000, her sister, Florence M. Gawrysiak, and her father, Louis Jones. She is survived by her 2 daughters: Cheryl (Robert) West of Indianapolis, Paula (Michael) Mateo of Waveland, IN; son: Greg (Chris) Miecznikowski of Chesterton; mother: Agnes Jones of Portage; 8 grandchildren: Daniel, Megan, Michael "Ty" & Alexandra Gallo, Tesia & Olivia West, Kara & Jacob Miecznikowski; 1 great grandson: Marcus Hampton; 2 sisters: Carolyn (Eldon, deceased) Anderson of Portage, Sherron (J.D.) Abernathy of Waveland, IN; and brother-in-law, Norbert Gawrysiak of Merrillville; 6 nieces and nephews; 7 great nieces and nephews; 1 great great niece; close friends: Tim Seakat and Sharon & Virgil Peay.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, 1:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th Street, Hobart, IN, Pastor Fred Mitchell, officiating. Interment will be at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (time of service). Phone (219) 942-1117.
