OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, JUNE 4, 2006:

ROBERT EDWARD McDONALD "Mac" Portage, Indiana Age 81, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 28, 2006. He was born July 28, 1924 in Hammond, Indiana to Joseph H. McDonald & Alma (nee Walker) McDonald. "Mac" was a 1942 graduate of Hobart High School, married Phyllis E. Ramsay in 1944 and was a World War II Navy Veteran. Mr. McDonald was an aerospace engineer at Bell Aerospace Corp. in Buffalo, NY for 25 years and then employed at Bob Fuller TV & Marine in Lake Station.

Mac was a loving, and devoted husband, father and grandfather and is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Phyllis(nee Ramsay) McDonald; 5 children: Toni (Wally) Mansfield of Flagstaff, AZ, Patricia H. McDonald, also of Flagstaff, Karen (Charlie) Schick of Houston, TX, Laura (Ken) Kerr of Chesterton, IN, Michael (Tracey) McDonald of Valparaiso; 11 grandchildren: Kristopher (Leslie) McDonald, Kelly McDonald, Sage (Kelly) Stewart, Nikole Schick, Jessica Johnson, Bryan Johnson, Kyle Kerr, Alyssa, Amanda, Ryan and Alexis McDonald; 2 great grandchildren: Olivia and Jacob McDonald; many friends, loved ones and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jame & Joseph, and a son, Robert James.

Private memorial services were held Friday, June 2, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, with Rev. Dennis Ticen officiating. Cremation preceded the memorial service. Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel. www.reesfuneralhomes.com
