Helen Walter (Pillman) - Class Of 1942

OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, OCTOBER 13, 2004:

HELEN V. PILLMAN Age 80 years, of Chesterton, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2004 at the Waters of Duneland in Chesterton. She was born in Gary, Indiana to the late James and Kathryn (Lane) Walter.

On May 3, 1952 in Hobart, IN, she married J. Warren Pillman, who preceded her in death February 25, 1996. She is survived by 2 sons, James W. Pillman of Porter, IN, John W. (Annemarie) Pillman of Greenwood, SC; her 3 grandchildren: Heather Pillman, Nicholas Pillman and Andrew Pillman, all of Greenwood, SC; 2 brothers, Thomas (Helen) Walter of Hobart, John (Shirley) Walter of Hausville, TX; 2 sisters, Kathleen Kemp of Merrillville, IN, Mary (Tom) Hockman of Detroit Lakes, MN; also survived by dedicated caregiver, Zofia Zemanek. Also preceded in death by her brother, Charles Walter.

She was a 1942 graduate of Hobart High School. Helen was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Chesterton and the seniors group of the church. She was a member of the Better Living Guild. She was employed as a receptionist at Dr. Hurst' Dental office in the 1970's.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday, October 16, 2004, 10:00 a.m. from St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. James Meade officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton. Burial will be in the Chesterton Cemetery, Chesterton, IN. Memorials may be given to St. Patrick Catholic Church, Chesterton. 219-926-1309.
