Martin "Mark" Scharbach - Class Of 1939

OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, SEPTEMBER 14, 2012:

Scharbach, Martin "Mark" Age 91, passed away on Wednesday September 12, 2012 at the Horton VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso. Mark was born May 13, 1921 in Hobart, Indiana to the late Bernard and Minnie Scharbach. Mark owned and operated several grocery stores in the area. He was a WWII Army Veteran, a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and American Legion Post #54. He was an avid fisherman. On March 13, 1980 he married Donna (Burke nee Haxton) Scharbach.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Scharbach of Hobart; daughters, Linda Scharbach of Tucson, AZ and Kyle (John) Oros of Hobart; 3 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews including, Kelly Martin. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley (Haxton) Scharbach; his parents; three brothers, Herb Scharbach, Bob Scharbach, and Barney Scharbach; three sisters, Louise Ciszek, Ruth Zander, and his twin sister, Margaret Beckner; one niece and two nephews.

Funeral services for Mark will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, September 17, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church 900 Luther Drive Hobart, Indiana 46342 with Rev. Gary S. Nagy officiating. Burial will follow in McCool Cemetery, Portage, Indiana. Visitation will be from 11am until the time of the services at 1pm Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church.
