Carolyn Erwin (Cicillian) - Class Of 1949

OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, JANUARY 8, 2012:

Cicillian, Carolyn J. Age 80, a longtime resident of Hobart since 1932, passed away on Saturday, January 07, 2012. Carolyn was born on August 12, 1931 in Marion, Indiana the daughter of Robert and Margaret Erwin. Carolyn was married to Edward J. Cicillian, Sr. on March 31, 1951 in Hobart. Carolyn had worked as a licensed practical nurse and then as unit secretary at Porter Memorial Hospital retiring after 25 years. She was a member of Saint Bridget's Catholic Church, the Saint Anne's Confraternity, the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, crafts, and crocheting.

Carolyn is survived by her loving family; six children: Jeffrey (Terri) Cicillian of Crown Point, Michael (Vicki) Cicillian, Valparaiso, Mark (Michelle) Cicillian, Valparaiso, Keith (Jeannie) Cicillian, Hermitage, TN, Martha (Randy) Waddell, Hobart, Julie (Bruce) Sowell, Hobart, step father William Lesenyie, Hobart, daughter-in-law Debbie (Jim) Gorigus, Hobart, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward J. Cicillian, Sr., and her son Edward Cicillian, Jr.

A visitation for Carolyn Cicillian will be held from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, January 9, 2012 at Rees Funeral Home Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2012 beginning with morning prayers at 9:30 am at the funeral home and then proceeding to St. Bridget Catholic Church for the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am with Rev. Dominic V. Bertino, officiating. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery in Portage, Indiana. Memorials in Carolyn's memory may be made to the Hobart Humane Society or to Life Care of the Willows.
