Charles F. (Chuck) Wittman - Class Of 1950

OBITUARY FROM MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, FEBRUARY 2, 2014:

Wittman, Charles F. "Chuck" "Even in Heaven, no soldier is left behind." Of Menomonee Falls. Age 81 years. Found Peace on January 30, 2014, surrounded by his loved ones after a short courageous battle with cancer.

Loving Fiancé of Shirley Higgins. Dedicated and Loving Father of Stephanie (Tom) Schneider, Stacy (Phil Barske) Robarge, Shelley (Leo) Bisch, Susan (Don) Pralle and Scott (Nancy) Wittman. Proud Grandpa of 17 Grandchildren; Jon, Ben, Mac, Calahan, Meghan, Christopher, Nicholas, Jamie, Patricia, Mary, Anna, Leo, Susan, Charles, Madison, Hailey and Bryanna. Brother of Nelson (Lynda) of Cincinnati, Ohio and Zeta Maree (Robert) of Hobart,Indiana. Further survived by his Tuesday Poker Pals, many relatives and friends. Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Patricia, and his parents Howard and Zeta of Hobart, Indiana.

Please join us for his Celebration of Life on Sunday, February 9, at 3PM, at the Community Room at the Highlands at Wildwood Lake N77 W17700 Lake Park Dr., Menomonee Falls, WI 563051. The family will greet friends Sunday 1PM until time of the Service. Chuck will be buried with full Military Honors at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Union Grove, WI. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all of Charlie's Angels at Aurora Cancer Care Center in Menomonee Falls as well as Aurora VNA Hospice Team.

Chuck was born on January 6,1933 in Gary, Indiana. Graduated from Hobart High School (Indiana). "Go Brickies Class of 1950" Chuck proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. from 1951-1954. Graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington in 1956. Chuck spent 34 years marketing computer products. He worked for 12 years at St. Mary's Parish, Menomonee Falls, in cemetery sales and was a driver for many years for Johnson Bus, Harwood Place and St. Camillus. Chuck was a Menomonee Falls Trustee for 6 years and a member of the VFW Post 9496 and American Legion Post 382. He was a faithful member and usher of St. Mary's Parish for 45 years. Because of Chuck's big heart and belief in a strong community, he was involved in many organizations. In Chuck's sincere words, "Thank you to everyone who has been kind to me." Mission Accomplished Soldier Semper Fi.
