OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES:
Henry J. "Hank" Bartos, 84, of Hobart, passed away Monday, December 2, 1996. He was a resident of Hobart since 1950 coming from New Chicago. Mr. Bartos was a Hobart High School graduate where he participated in band and was an outstanding football player. He was a welder for Inland Steel with 35 years of service and a member of Steelworker's Local 1010 and the 25 Year Club of Inland Steel. Mr. Bartos also managed a baseball farm team for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Dona (Angerski) Bartos of Hobart; one granddaughter, Dona (Michael Petrashevich) Vail of Hammond; one grandson, Floyd Vail, Jr. of Griffith; one brother, Leo Bartos of New Chicago, IN., one sister, Eleanor Kaczmarek of Hobart; two great grandsons, Justin and Joshua Vail of Portage. Preceded in death by his parents Mike and Anna (Prelinsky) Bartos; one daughter, Sharon Vail, four brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 4, 1996 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and from the Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, IN. 219-942-2109. There will be no funeral services. Cremains will be placed in Calumet Park Mausoleum at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Mary Bartz VNA Hospice.
