Lawrence Dooling
Hobart -- Lawrence Dooling, 88, of Hobart passed away Monday, January 25, 1999. Mr. Dooling was born in Hobart, July 17, 1910 to his Irish parents, John and Lucy (nee Keenehan) Dooling who preceded him in death.
He was employed at Youngstown Sheet & Tin Mill and the Kingsbury Ordinance Plant; was a sales rep with Pool and Arnold Sales of Valparaiso. He was a Pennsylvania Railroad employee working in the Hobart and Valparaiso Depot with 10 years of service and became a letter carrier in the Hobart area from 1960 until 1975 when he retired.
Survivors are three sons, Thomas (Ruth) Dooling of Hobart, Jerry (Sheron) Dooling of LaPorte, TX and Michael (Betty) Dooling of St. Peters, MN; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Dooling of Whittier, CA and Louise Funck of St. Louis, MO; brothers-in-law, Rev. Gerhardt (Marilyn) Schmidt of St. Louis, MO and Karl (Helen) Schmidt of Phoenix, AZ. Others that have preceded him in death besides his parents are his wife, Esther of 53 years, one sister, Rose Smith and two brothers, Joe and Edward.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 30, 1999 at 10 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN, with Rev. Frederic Lams officiating. Burial at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN. Friends may call Friday 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
