Lucille M. (Vallis) Kramer, 87, of Hobart passed away Thursday, April 8, 1999. Mrs. Kramer was born February 3, 1912 in Moline, Illinois to Ed and Emma Greko. She moved to Gary in1924 and to Hobart in 1929. Graduated in the class of 1930 from Hobart High School.
She was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church where she married Matthew Kramer in 1934. She was a member of the following organizations: St. Anne's Confraternity, Lady Knights of Columbus Lodge 1347, Lake Station Senior Swingers, Good Times Squares, Good Times Bunco Club, Merri Tyme Squares, Gold Keyes, Hobart Senior Citizens (where she was Secretary and Treasurer since 1986), St. John Church in Glenwood, IL, St. John Friendly Seniors, St. John Womans Club and Craft Club. Lucille was an officer of the
ProParvulis PTA, RSVP Volunteer for Lake and Porter County, Pioneer Hoedowners Treasurer for 8 years, Girl Scout and Brownie Leader from 1947-1957, Chairman of the Aunt Jamima Pancake Supper on Shrove Tuesday from 1955-1957, Chairperson for the New Card Table Fundraiser at St. Bridget Church, Secretary of Hobart womens Democratic Club and Inspector of Precinct 2 for 29 years.
Mrs. Kramer is survived by her daughters, Dolores (Bryce) Chapman, grandchildren, Mark, Matthew and Jon Chapman Marian (Donald) Pozgay, grandchildren, Steven and Christine Chapman, loving nieces and nephews, Shirley Beckwith and Michael Grasa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Emma Greko, husbands, Matthew R. Kramer and Thomas Vallis and her dear sister, Doris Grasa.
Funeral services to begin at 9:30 a.m April 12, 1999 at the Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN, proceeding to St. Bridget Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. Burial at Calumet Park Cemetery. Visitation Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayer service Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
