Marjorie Gunderson (Talmadge) - Class Of 1957

OBITUARY INFORMATION FROM TRIBUTE ARCHIVE WEBSITE:

Marjorie (Gunderson) Talmadge (84) passed away on February 04, 2024, surrounded by family in Escondido, California.  Marjorie was born to Martin and Elizabeth Gunderson on June 2, 1939, in Gary, Indiana.  She attended Hobart High School and graduated from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School in 1957.  On November 28, 1958, Marjorie married Eugene (Gene) Talmadge from Hobart, Indiana. They spent 42 years together before Gene passed in 2001. While living in Merrillville, IN, Marjorie and Eugene owned and operated the Captain Chips Potato Ship restaurant with their children. Marjorie also worked in childcare while living in Columbus, OH and in Tucson, AZ.  She then moved to San Diego, California, to live with her daughter and son-in-law, where she helped raise 3 of her grandchildren and worked with special needs children. Marjorie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling every summer, reading, and music (especially Elvis Presley).

Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; mother, Elizabeth; father, Martin; and brother, James (Jim).  She is survived by her children Cheryl (Tom) Ryan, Debbie Ember, Darrell Talmadge, Martin Talmadge, and David Talmadge; and her grandchildren Tyler Talmadge; Jeremy Ember; and Kinsey, Kaylin, and Maggie Ryan.
