Jack Teer - Class Of 1957

OBITUARY FROM BURNS FUNERAL HOME WEBSITE, MAY 4, 2016:

Jack E. Teer, age 77, of Hobart, passed away peacefully at his home May 2, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He had suffered from Parkinson’s disease for the past 18 years. He was a retired Sergeant from the Hobart Police Department serving from 1962 to 1982. After retirement he worked for the River Forest School Corporation where he served as the Grounds Supervisor of the Maintenance and Transportation Department. Jack then worked as the Lift Station Supervisor in Hobart. He was very energetic and only required four to five hours of sleep a night.

Jack was a great family man who always found time to take his family camping, boating, fishing and water skiing. He was a member of the Hobart Boat and Ski Club, and the Hobart F.O.P. Lodge 121.
Jack was preceded in death by his son-Jeff Teer and daughter-Nancy Teer Snider; his brother-Bill; and his parents-Bud and Laverne Teer. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years-Betty; son – Michael (Pamela) Teer, of Hobart; brother-Tom (Katy) Teer of WI; grandson-Matt Teer; granddaughters-Stephanie Teer and Taylor Rippe; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jack was a man that got things done. He was lovingly and affectionately called the “one man army”. “Rest in peace my love, you will be missed”.

Funeral service for Jack will be held Friday, May 6, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, 900 Luther Drive, Hobart. Friends may visit with his family on Thursday, from 2-8:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 East 7th Street, Hobart and on Friday from 9-10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pastor Rick Boshoven officiating.
