Joseph Robert "Uncle Bob" Tenorio, Sr., 85, of Hobart, passed away peacefully at his home on May 27, 2024. Born on November 22, 1938, to John and Violet (nee Cameron) Tenorio in Gary, he was a lifelong resident of Lake County.

A Hobart High School alumnus, Class of 1957, Joseph answered the call to serve his nation in the Army shortly after graduation, where he served with distinction from 1957 to 1959. Upon returning to civilian life, Joseph embarked on a lengthy career at the Ford Motor Stamping Plant. After 33 years of dedicated service, he retired as a respected member of the UAW Union.

Joseph's passions included golfing, fishing and playing poker. He was also a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, standing by his favorite teams through thick and thin. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in New Chicago and the American Legion Post 454 in New Chicago.

Preceding Joseph in death were his parents; his beloved sisters: Juanita Allison and Mary Lou Tenorio; and his dearly missed wife of 52 years, Linda Sue (Collins) Tenorio.

Family and friends may gather to honor and celebrate Joseph's life on Saturday, June 1, 2024, for a visitation from 10 AM until 1 PM, with Military Honors and Chapel Service immediately to follow. All services at Calumet Park Hobart Portage Chapel (370 North County Line Road, Hobart, IN, 46342.
