Crown Point -- Guy O. Wirick Jr., age 80 of Crown Point, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2002, at his home.

He was born Aug. 11, 1921 in Chicago, IL, to the late Guy, Sr. and Myrtle (Orr) Wirick and was an area resident most of his life.

Guy was a letter carrier of the U.S. Postal Service for 29 years, retiring in 1977. He was a WW II U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and former member of the Marine Corps Aviation Association.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Doris (nee Hamann); sons, Larry D. (Jeanne) Wirick of Pittsburgh, CA, Robert A. and Tony M. Wirick, both of Crown Point; special daughter, Sharon Anderson of St. Charles, IL; grandson, Kelly Wirick and great-granddaughter, Victoria Wirick, both of San Diego, CA; sister, Marilyn J. Wirick of Hobart and nephews, Donald Wirick of Portage and Philip Wirick of Hobart. Preceded in death by a brother, Charles Wirick.

Funeral services Wednesday, April 17, 2002 11:00 a.m. at the Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Rev. Clyde Morris officiating. Interment, Mosier Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society, the Parkinson's Foundation or VNA of Porter County.

Visitation Tuesday, April 16th, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
