Obituary for Frances M. Sapper

Frances M. Sapper born May 28, 1924, passed January 7, 2024, at the age of 99 at St. Mary’s Hospital. Frances was a founding member of Sapper’s Market in 1943 along with her husband John which is still a thriving business run by their daughter. She loved to spend her winters in Florida with John. She served on the 4-H Lake County Committee and was active in the 4-H Club. Frances was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hobart. She loved music, sewing, painting, her animals, and flowers! Frances was a foster parent of 9 children. She was a past church choir soloist and violinist. Frances was active in Hobart politics.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John C. Sapper, her parents Clarence and Julia Fleming, her sister Marjorie Prysock, niece Susie Staples, grandson Richard “Alan” Sapper II, son in law Thomas Parry. She is survived by children Rick (Evelyn) Sapper, Mary Beth Parry, Janet (Mike) Kraynik. Grandchildren Jennifer (Bil) Mack, Fred (Kristin) Sapper, Christine (Jim) Boudro, Jon (Amanda) Kraynik, Jessica (Tom) Solomon, Jon (Amanda) Parry, Granddaughter in law Heather Sapper. Great grandchildren Jacob & Jada Sapper, Richie & Nicky Sapper, Taeler, Tre, Tori (Troy Bolds) Mack, Owen, Kinley, Quinn, Solomon, Andrew, Leo, Everett Kraynik. Great great grandson Montell Bolds.

Visitation will take place Thursday January 11, 2024, from 2-7pm at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E . 7th St., Hobart. Funeral will take place Friday January 12, 2024, at 10am at Trinity Lutheran Church 900 Luther Drive, Hobart.
