George Edwards - Class Of 1946

OBITUARY FROM THE POST-TRIBUNE, JANUARY 25. 2006:
 
GEORGE H. EDWARDS Hobart, Indiana Age 77, a lifetime resident of Hobart, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2006. George was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hobart. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Hobart American Legion Post 54, the Hobart V.F.W. Post 5365 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #783. He was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service with the Hobart Post Office and a member of NALC Union. He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. & Olive Edwards and his sister, Jean Edwards Puskar.
 
He is survived by his wife, Betty (nee George) Edwards; sons, Tom (Karen) Edwards, Jerry Edwards, all of Hobart; grandchildren, Erica Edwards of Hobart, Michelle (Heath) Hewson of Tampa, Florida, Amber (Bryan) Lucas of Hobart, Adam Edwards of Hobart; numerous nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th Street, Hobart, Rev. Alex Stone officiating. Services will terminate at the funeral home with cremation following at the Burns Funeral Home Crematory. Friends may visit with the family at Burns Funeral Home, Hobart on Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. American Legion Post 54 will hold memorial services on Thursday at 7 p.m.
