Sophie Teoflia Hielscher, 88, a resident of the Littlefork Care Center died Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Ranier Roost in Ranier, Minnesota. She was born December 15, 1926 in Gary, Indiana to parents Adam and Emily (Goawryrk) Lawskoski.

She attended and graduated nearby Hobert High School where she met Kenneth Hielscher who she would wed June 24th, 1950. They resided in Gary, Indiana until the 1970’s when they moved to Kabetogama, MN.

Sophie and her husband Kenneth helped to establish the Kabetogama Community Building and start the Kabetogama Volunteer Fire Department. She enjoyed music, dancing, hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time outdoors at her home on Calm Bay.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; and all of her nine siblings.

Sophie is survived by her sons: Michael, Roy, and Richard; grandchildren, Melissa, Bryan, Sarah, David, Jacob, Michael, Eric, Chelsey, and Andy; and one great grandson.

Interment was at Weston Cemetery, Rensselaer, Indiana.
