Richard Burkman Obituary
Age 89, passed away on January 10, 2022 @ Loma Linda Hospital. Richard was born in Hammond, Indiana on May 16, 1932 to his loving parents Carl and Leona Burkman. He grew up in Indiana on a farm. Between 1952 to 1955 he served in the United States Army in Korea. After returning home he worked in a steel mill as a Metal Ergist [sic]. Moved to Southern California in 1961, bought the property his house now sits on in 1961, having a house built that he moved into in 1962. He worked at Kaiser Steel for a short time and then hired on to the Rialto Post Office in 1964 and retiring in 1992 as a Mail Carrier. He took care of his parents till they both passed away, still residing in the same home he had built. In 1994 to 2021, he began working part time then eventually full time as an Office Manager for Veldman's Automotive in Rialto. When Richard passed away he had no family remaining, but, he had a lot of friends who cared for him deeply and enjoyed his company. He will be greatly missed by all.
Celebration of Life will be at American Legion - 422, 848 S. Lilac Ave., Rialto, CA from 12 noon to 4:00pm, lunch will be provided. Would love to see all who knew Richard so please come and celebrate his life!
