Norma L. Ondo (nee Doud), age 90 a longtime Lake Station resident passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021. She was born on June 15, 1931 in Medaryville, Indiana to the late Carl E. and Vergie O. Doud.
Norma worked for the General Telephone Company from 1948-1951. She also worked for Hobart Township, Meister and River Forest Schools retiring after over 25 years of service in the School Cafeteria. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church and the Rosary Sodality. Norma loved singing in the St. Francis Choir and the Purdue Extension Choir. She was most proud of her family, her home, and her yard. She loved hosting a traditional Sunday dinner at her home for her family, which included over 16 people, every Sunday. She also loved flower gardening, yellow roses, decorating, and collecting plates, glassware, and jewelry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Ondo in 2019.

Funeral services are Saturday, January 8, 2022, beginning with 9:15 a.m. prayers and proceeding to St. Francis Xavier Church, 2447 Putnam St., Lake Station for a 10 a.m. Mass Christian Burial with Rev. Jaime Perea officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Hobart. Visitation is Friday, January 7, 2022 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Rosary service at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart.
