LENA KATHRYN MANNO "KAY" CHESTERTON, IN Lena "Kay" Kathryn Manno, age 82 of Chesterton, IN passed away on Thursday February 26, 2009 at Porter Hospital Valparaiso Campus. She was born on February 3, 1927 in Omaha, IL to Edward J. and Dorothy F. (Lewis) Gerst. On January 27, 1951 in Chicago, IL she married Charles Manno who preceded her on August 26, 2003. She worked as a proof supervisor for Continental bank. She was a wildlife lover and she loved her grandchildren and her animals.

Kay is survived by a son, Charles (Shirley) Manno of League City, TX; daughters; Linda Corbett of Lansing, IL, Sherry (Ray) Marcotte of Valparaiso, IN, Angela Manno (Gerry Gonnella) of Valparaiso, IN and Debra (Emerson) DeLaney of Chesterton, IN; 11 grandchildren: Ashley Corbett, Matt (Jamie), Brian (Evelyn), Shannon Marcotte, Jeremy Fedorenko, Chris Steiger, Joey Manno, Ed, Steve, Nick and Sean DeLaney; and five great grandchildren. Kay was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Ellen McLaughlin; and grandson, Jason Marcotte. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday March 2, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN. Interment at Chesterton Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2009 from 2:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Porter County Wildlife Management.
