Martha Pender (Baker) - Class Of 1944

OBITUARY FROM COSTIN FUNERAL CHAPEL (MARTINSVILLE, IN) WEBSITE:

Martha L. (Pender) Baker, 88, Stilesville, passed away at 3:40 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born on Thursday, October 16, 1924 in Newport, Indiana, to the late Dewey and Leatha (Nickle) Pender.

Martha was a 1944 graduate of Hobart High School in Hobart, Indiana. She was a homemaker and had worked at Wallace's Grocery in Crown Center several years ago.

Martha was a member of Mt. Tabor Christian Church at Crown Center. She was a member of the Church Ladies Auxiliary and had been a Sunday School Teacher.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Wayne Baker, whom she married on August 8, 1944; sons, Lyle Baker and wife Donna and Jeff Baker and wife Crystal all of Stilesville; daughters, Rebecca Kern and husband David of Quincy and Brenda Pate and husband David of Stilesville; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were her son, Robert Wayne Baker and brothers, Wilbert Pender and David Pender.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Costin Funeral Chapel with Homer Henderson officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Costin Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the funeral service.

Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hall, Indiana.
