Was the funniest person i knew, would make anyone laugh. He was a great father and a great uncle so loving w children. He was the biggest animal lover .he also served for our country traveling to places like Germany and Amsterdam. He had lots of friends and cherished them all.

Joseph Michael “Joey” Skrzypek, Jr., age 33, of Michigan City, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016. He was born on November 14, 1982 in Würzburg, Germany to Joseph Skrzypek, Sr. and Joann Larosa. Joey proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was currently employed as an Ironworker and was a member of the Ironworker's Union Local #365 in Portage. He was an avid fan of every sports team in Chicago, especially the White Sox.
 
Joey is survived by his parents, Joseph Skrzypek Sr. and Joann Larosa; son, Michael Skrzypek; daughter, Priscilla Skrzypek; sister, Nicole Skrzypek; niece, Bella Robinson; maternal grandmother, Maryann Larosa.
 
A funeral service for Joey will take place Monday, February 22, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West OId Ridge Road, Hobart with Deacon Dennis Guernsey officiating. Cremation will follow services. Visitation will be held Monday from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. For more information, please call (219) 942-2109.
