Charles Merodias, age 88, of Crown Point, IN passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017.

Charles is survived by his 2 daughters: Brenda Zieba and Charlene (Rick) Hise; 2 grandchildren: Rich (Kristen) Zieba and Christy Zieba; 2 great grandchildren: Hannah and Emma; a nephew; and three nieces.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Ella “Louise”; parents: Harry and Xanthippi; brother: William; sister: Thelma; granddaughter: Richelle Zieba; and son-in-law: Richard Zieba.

Charles worked and retired from the Budd Company.  He was a member of Ss. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church.  He enjoyed fishing and working as an auto mechanic in his spare time.   He was also a Golden Gloves Boxing Champion.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, July 2, 2017, at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E 113th Ave/South St, Crown Point, IN 46307 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017, at 10:00 AM directly at Ss. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 8000 Madison, Merrillville, IN with Fr. Theodore Poteres and Fr. George Pappas officiating. Interment will take place at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.
