OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, NOVEMBER 16, 2008:

George Podunovich, age 82, passed away Friday, November 14, 2008. George graduated from Hobart High School in 1944 and Indiana University. George served in the Philippines with the United States Army during World War II and he retired from the aerospace industries in Southern California.

He is survived by his loving brother, Mike Podunovich of Valparaiso; his sister, Ann Yugo of Merrillville and Katharine Fiorantin of Valparaiso; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Dan and Manda Podunovich, his brother, Ralph Podunovich, and sisters, Mildred Zunich, and Mary Kovel.

There will be no local services. Cremation will be in Santa Anna, California.
