When Donald Ray Belaschky was born on 22 November 1925, in Hammond, Lake, Indiana, United States, his father, Carl F. Belaschky, was 23 and his mother, Retha Ruth Plummer, was 24. He lived in Hobart, Ross Township, Lake, Indiana, United States in 1940. He died on 19 April 2007, in Valparaiso, Porter, Indiana, United States, at the age of 81, and was buried in Hobart Township, Lake, Indiana, United States.

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, APRIL 20, 2007:

Donald R. Belaschky, age 81, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2007. He was born November 22, 1925 in Hammond, IN, the son of Carl F. and Retha R. (Plummer) Belaschky. Donald graduated from Hobart High School. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII and later served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Don retired as a foreman from Bethlehem Steel. After retirement, he worked at Valparaiso High School until 2005. He was a member of the Valparaiso Nazarene Church. On August 18, 1946, he married Patricia Ann (Platts), who survives him in Valparaiso, IN.

Also surviving are three sons: James (Toni) Belaschky of Terre Haute, IN, Fred (Florence) Belaschky of St. Petersburg, FL and Rodney (Toni) Belaschky of Chesterton, IN; three daughters: Susan (Keith) Heinold of Valparaiso, IN, Sally Price of Nashville, IN and Amy Belaschky of Valparaiso, IN; daughter-in-law, Sharon Butterfield Belaschky of Valparaiso, IN; son-in-law, Fred Price of Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his uncles: Frank Belaschky of Valparaiso, IN and Walter Belaschky of Chicago, IL.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 22, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe, Valparaiso, IN with Rev. Gene Tanner officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Hospice, 501 Marquette Street, Valparaiso, IN 46383 or St. Agnes Adult Daycare, 1855 W. Harrison Blvd., Valparaiso, IN 46385.
