Wilbert Christiansen, 51, 717 W. Eight St., Marion, died Sunday at the Marion VA Hospital, where he had been a patient for 18 months.

Mr. Christiansen was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in World War II. He was born in Illinois and moved to Marion from Indianapolis in 1970. He was employed as an electrical engineer at Essex International, Marion. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Marion, attended Valparaiso University and was a graduate of Purdue University.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine; three sons, Paul, Matthew and Martin, all at home; two daughters, Mrs. David (Bonita) Irwin, Honolulu, Hawaii, and Joy at home; his mother, Mrs. Emil (Anita) Christiansen, LaCrosse; a brother, Norman, Elmira, N.Y.; two sisters, Mrs. Howard (Patricia) Ewen, LaCrosse, and Miss Edna Mae Christiansen, Richmond, and a grandchild.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday at the St. James Lutheran Church, Marion, with the Rev. Leonard Fiene officiating. Burial was made at the IOOF cemetery, Marion.

Raven Funeral Home, Kem Road at Wabash Avenue, Marion, handled the arrangements.
