Helen J. Kaczmarek nee Knaga, age 89, of Crown Point, IN formerly of Hobart, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at St. Anthony Medical Center in Crown Point, IN.

Helen is survived by her children: Leonard Bonnie Kaczmarek; Nancy John Cermak; and Joan Garth Rosenbaum; grandchildren: Laura Kaczmarek; Daryl Kris Kaczmarek; Ronald Robin Kaczmarek; and Garrett and Brent Rosenbaum; great-grandchildren: Frankie, Stephen, Emily, Katie, and Lilly Kaczmarek; brother: Eugene Polly Knaga; sister-in-law: Rose Knaga; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; parents, Carolina and Zygmunt; brothers, Joe and Edward Knaga; and sister, Sophie Bartos.

Helen was born in New Chicago, IN on July 17, 1921. She was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, worked at the Information Desk in the Southlake Mall, and worked several years for her brother at Mr. K's Chuckwagon.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 10:00 AM Wittenberg Lutheran Village Chapel, 1200 E. Luther Dr., Crown Point, IN, with Fr. Kevin McCarthy officiating. Interment at Calvary Cemetery in Portage, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre NOTE: NEW LOCATION- 2 blocks east of Broadway at 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN and on Thursday DIRECTLY AT Wittenberg Lutheran Village Chapel from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.
