William Massa, age 90 of Merrillville, IN passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2010.

He is survived by his sister, Albena Anselmo of Knoxville, TN. Preceded in death by his wife, Georgianna; parents: Antonio and Theresa Massa; brothers and sisters: John Massa, Margaret Massa, Frank Massa, Louis Massa, Lucille Sleziak, Edith Andreis, and Mary Richter.

Bill was a member and volunteer at St. Andrew the Apostle for many years. He farmed in the Hobart/Merrillville area most of his life. Bill loved farming, animals and gardening. Some of the cattle he raised were donated to local food pantries.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 10:00 AM directly at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 801 W. 73rd Ave., Merrillville, IN with Fr. David H. Gosnell officiating. Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, November 12, 2010 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN with a prayer service at 6:00 PM and directly at the church on Saturday, from 9:15 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM.

Memorials in William's name may be given to Merrillville Food Pantry or St. Andrew the Apostle Church.
