Carl Schwuchow, Former Band Director, Died Sunday

Carl Schwuchow, 46, member of the First Christian Church and band director at Decatur High School for 16 1/2 years, died Sunday at the Decatur General Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Decatur High School auditorium with the Rev. Robert Glenn, Gulfport, Miss, and the Rev. Robert Shaw conducting. Burial will be in the Oakview Memorial Garden with Brown directing. The body will remain at the funeral home until time for services when it will be taken to the school.

Mothers Club has established a Carl Schwuchow Memorial Scholarship fund. Memorials may be given to this fund through Mrs. Charles Campbell, 1501 Chestnut St., president of the band mothers club.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Dorothy Schwuchow; one son, Robert Carl Schwuchow; one daughter, Sandra Lee Schwuchow, all of Decatur; one sister, Mrs. Albert Erwin, Hobart, Ind; five brothers, Arthur Schwuchow, Lakeside, Calif; Robert, Edward, Gerald and James Schwuchow, Hobart, Ind.

Pallbearers are to be Lawrence GTivens, Jewett Filler, W.R. Riley, J.W. Goode, Ed Simms, and Joe Beams. Honorary pallbearers are, Dr. John Chenault, Rowe Sanderson, E.R. Clements Sr, R.L. Penn, J.W. Cowart, Gerry Countryman, Garrett McLear, A.O. Lively, W.H. Jenkins, H.L. Ogle, W.H. Isbell, Hubert Brooks, Bobby Vaughn, and William Myers.

His body was moved to Roselawn Memorial Gardens when Oakview Memorial Garden was closed.
