Affectionately known as "Bill," Mr. Weigus was 93 and a resident of Portage, IN at the time of his return to the spiritual realsm from Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso. He was a native of Chicago, IL and a son of Albert and Julia Weigus. He was a retired union Ironworker having worked out of Local #395. He was also a former member of Nativity of Our Savior Church in Portage and the Knights of Columbus, St. Clemment's Council, Lake Station, IN. William was preceded in death by 2 brothers, John and Frank Weigus. He was survived by his loving wife, Helen; his son, William Wayne (Bette) Weigus of Angola, IN; 3 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Lillian Weigus of Hobart, IN and Josephine Retheford of Merrillville, IN. Funeral services were held on December 27 at the Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, Portage, IN.
