Margaret A. Watts, age 84, of Hobart passed away May 1, 2017. She was born on March 28, 1933 in Minnesota to the late Roland and Lorna (nee Dunn) Kanne. Margaret was a retired Head Cook for Hobart High School. On May 1, 1964 Margaret married the love of her life Benjamin Watts and returned to him 53 years later. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. Margaret will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her son, David (Kara) Watts; five daughters, Kanne Knezz, Patti (Bill) Tharp, Theresa (Mike) Camarena, Nanette Markovich and Donna (Gordon) Miller; 12 grandchildren, Layne and Lucas Watts, Stephanie, Emily and Matt Knezz, Jennifer Tharp, Nicholas, Zachary and Hannah Camarena, Megan Markovich, Robert (Becky) McGlothlen and Jessica (Jamie) McGlothlen and two great- grandchildren Zoe McGlothlen and Ava Miller; step son, Benjamin “Ben” (Monika) Watts and many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Benjamin C. Watts; one granddaughter, Lisa Tharp; brother, Wyatt Kanne and two sisters, Dorothy Rausch and Donna Kanne and son in law, Steve Knezz.
In lieu of flowers donations to Asera Care Hospice Foundation, 808 Vale Park Road, Valparaiso, Indiana 46383 in Margaret’s honor would be appreciated.
Funeral services are Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Hobart.
