William L. Paulson - Class Of 1941

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES:
 
William L. Paulson, age 81, a lifelong Hobart resident, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2002. Bill was owner and operator of Paulson Conoco Service Station and was a volunteer Fireman for the Hobart Fire Department. He was a graduate of Hobart High School, class of 1941 and a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Hobart. Bill was a Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post #54, VFW Kostbade/Fowble Post #5365 and the Winamac Old Car Club.
 
Survivors: wife of 59 years, Marjorie, son, Robert (Susan) Paulson of Hobart; daughter-in-law, Sandra Paulson of Hobart; four grandchildren: William A. (Stacey), Jacob, Leah and Erin Paulson; three great-grandchildren: Tony, Joshua and Nolan Paulson; brother-in-law, Dale (Carol) Ewigleben of Hobart; and sister-in-law, RoseLee Williams of Fox River Grove, IL.
 
Preceded in death by parents, Lee T. and Edith (nee Corp) Paulson and son, William F. Paulson. Memorials are preferred to the 1st United Methodist Church of Hobart.
 
Funeral services Monday, September 16, 2002, 11:00 A.M. at the Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN, Rev. Larry K. Whitehead officiating. Burial, Evergreen Memorial Park, Hobart. Visitation will be on Sunday, 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart.

Paul Addison (1970)

We lived just a few block's from Paulson's Conoco station, which was at the corner of Cleveland Avenue and Hwy 130/51. He let us charge the gas for our cars, even us kids when we got our licenses. My dad was somehow willing to pay the bill. He was a nice guy.
