Melvyn Lee Kaczmarek, age 78, of Hobart passed away Saturday July 17, 2021 at his home.  Mel was born September 30, 1942 , to the late Marty and Eleanore ( Bartos) Kaczmarek in New Chicago, Indiana.  Mel was a retired school teacher for the School City of Hobart.  Following his retirement from teaching he worked as a projectionist at the ART Theater in Hobart.  He loved fishing.  He also enjoyed playing poker and playing Yahtzee. He was a wonderful husband and loving father.

Mel is survived by his loving wife Sandy "Little Lady"; his brother, Norm (Mary); his six children; Kris (Charlie), Kenneth (Amy), Mitch (Libby), John (Lisa), Catherine (Bill), and Dawn (David); eleven grandchildren, Ashley, Jessica, Catherine, Gage, Isabella, Olivia, Matt, Kate, Ben, Steven, and Kevin; and several nieces and nephews. He was very much loved and will be incredibly missed.

Melvyn will be cremated with no attended services.  Rees Funeral Home, Hobart, Indiana was entrusted with his arrangements.
