Beverly Anne Fackler, January 08, 1930 - November 22, 2020

Beverly A. Fackler (nee Schau) passed away peacefully in her sleep November 22, 2020 at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clifford, after 60 years of marriage, and also her brothers Richard Schau, Ronald Schau, and David Schau, and her sister Phyllis Miller (nee Schau).

She is survived by her sons, Neil (Kim) Fackler of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Jeffrey Fackler of Walnut Creek, California, grandson Colin Fackler, of Apple Valley, Minnesota, her brothers Charles (Arlene) Schau of West Lafayette, Indiana, Kenneth (Lois) Schau, and sister Judy Schau of Valparaiso, Indiana, and also many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Beverly was born in Valparaiso, Indiana and graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1948. She then graduated with a Bachelors of Education from Ball State Teachers College (now Ball State University) and received a masters of education at Purdue Calumet. She taught 3rd grade at Mundell Elementary School in Hobart, Indiana and remedial reading at Trinity Lutheran School, also in Hobart. She loved her students and reveled in watching them develop and improve their skills.   

She was an active member at Trinity Lutheran Church, participating in Mothers’ Circle long into her 80s, and was a beloved servant at funeral dinners.

Bev was also a loving, devoted wife who served as a caretaker to her husband during his long battle with Alzheimers, and loved her role as a mother whose emphasis on education is especially appreciated by her sons. She especially enjoyed large family get togethers with her sisters, brothers, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, Beverly would appreciate donations in her memory to be directed to the general fund at Trinity Lutheran School, 891 South Linda Street, Hobart IN 46342.
