Graduate of BSU dies

Donald Somers, 41, a graduate of Ball State University and mathematics teacher in Hobart High School the past 12 years, died Wednesday night at Mercy Hospital after suffering a coronary attack at his home in Hobart. He was active in several educational organizations.

He is survived by his wife, the former Barbara McGuire; a daughter, Beth Ann, at home; his father, Horace Somers, Pendleton; a brother, Dr. Walter Richard Somers, a Ball State faculty member; a sister, Miss Joanna Somers, Fortville, and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Ira McGuire, Muncie.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Rees Funeral Home in Hobart where callers will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.
