Marguerite Worl Lawler (Teacher)

Lawler, Marguerite W., Frankenmuth, Michigan. Passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at the Frankenmuth Lutheran Home at the age of 101 years from complications due to injuries suffered in a fall at her home in Frankenmuth.

Marguerite was born August 22, 1903 in Loree, Ind. to the late Frank and Rose Worl. She had lived in Valparaiso, Ind. for many years before moving to Independence Village in Frankenmuth in 1986. Marguerite had been an elementary school teacher in the northern Indiana public school system for over 30 years. While teaching in Hobart, Indiana she met Fonzo Lawler, also a teacher, and they were married in 1928.

Mr. Lawler passed away in 1964. They had three daughters who survive, Mary E. Lawler, Palm Springs, Calif.; Phyllis Jean (Eldon) Keehn, Frankenmuth and Letitia L. (Mick) Siemion, Sedona, Ariz.; also surviving are three grandchildren, Jeff Keehn, St. Joseph, Mich.; Kurt Isenberg, Yucca Valley, Calif. and Kristin (Keehn) Cournoyer, Raleigh, N.C. Marguerite is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Cory Keehn, Jason Cournoyer, Pamela Keehn, Jennifer Cournoyer, Jill Cournoyer and Kortney Isenberg; also one great-great-grandchild, Joseph Scott; three nieces and two nephews and a sister-in-law, Leanna Worl, Fort Wayne, Ind. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Verlin and Chester Worl, a sister, Tivola Stuber and a brother-in-law, John Stuber and three grandsons, Rick, Jon and Jim Isenberg.

In accordance with Marguerite's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at Marguerite's church, the Frankenmuth United Methodist Church, on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. A committal service will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, Ind. at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Frankenmuth United Methodist Church or the Frankenmuth Lutheran Home. Marguerite's family will receive visitors at the church from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth.
