Mr. Thurrell Thompson, 52, of Union City, GA passed Wednesday, November 2, 2022 in Fayetteville, GA.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. EST, Wednesday, November 9, 2022 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Harrison Ford, officiating. Burial to follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Columbus, GA. Visitation is Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 2-5 p.m. EST.

Mr. Thompson was born September 8, 1970, in East Chicago, IN to the late Samuel Thompson and Frankie Tarver Thompson. Thurrell was a truck driver for over 25 years. During those years, he also attended the University of West Georgia, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education Arts and Social Studies. This degree led him to become a teacher with the Hobart Indiana School District and a social worker with the state of Indiana as a family advocate.

Thurrell had an infectious outspoken personality. He would light up any room he entered and left an impression that you would never forget. He loved cars and music.

Thurrell leaves to cherish his memories: a fiancé, Erica Taylor of Douglasville, GA; two sons Thurrell Thompson of Joliet, IL, and Jhurrell Thompson of Augusta, GA; three daughters, Mercedes Thompson of Atlanta, GA, Tantiana Thompson of Chicago, IL, and Akhali Thompson of Lousiville, KY; two brothers, Emmanuel Thompson of Indianapolis, IN and Adrian (LaShawn) Thompson of Avon, IN; four sisters, Doris Thompson of Phenix City, AL, Andretta Thompson Ryles of Phenix City, AL, NaKeshia Thompson of Chicago, IL, and Lateriri Rendell of Portage, IN; three nephews; two great-nephews; four nieces and a host of family and friends.
