Rosinda Maria Velez, age 35 of Helotes, TX passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021. She was born on April 2, 1986 in Hammond, IN to Salvador Velez and Lucy Velez-Laguna.

Rosinda is survived by her father, Salvador Velez; mother, Lucy Velez-Laguna; step-mother, Julie Velez; son, Daniel Chavez, Jr.; twin-sister, Michelle (Steve) Sanchez; sisters, Liza Torres, Annette Velez; step-brothers, Daniel Rodriguez, Luis Hernandez; step-sister, Cristina Hernandez; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Salvador Velez, Jr.

Rosinda had a passion for cooking and baking. Her favorite time of year was the fall and Halloween was her favorite holiday. Rosinda enjoyed watching the sunsets at Lake Michigan every year, admiring nature. She had a broad taste in music and enjoyed sharing this with her father. Rosinda was known to be very feisty, but had the biggest heart. She loved to be with her nieces and nephews and they loved to be with her. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her, but we still have a piece of her with us because of her identical twin sister, Michelle.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 7:00 pm at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Avenue, Portage, IN 46368 with Pastor Juaquin Rodriguez officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Rosinda's honor may be made to the organization of the donor's choice. It is the wishes of the family that everyone in attendance wear a mask.
