Kenneth Borchelt (Teacher)

OBITUARY INFORMATION FROM DIGNITY MEMORIAL WEBSITE:

Kenneth Paul Borchelt, 85, of Evansville, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017, at the Heritage Center. He was born October 12, 1931, in Fort Wayne, IN.

He served in the Navy as a hospital corpsman from May 9, 1950 to March 17, 1954. After being discharged from the Navy, he met and married his wife, Lois. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from IU and a master’s degree from Ball State, he taught Elementary School for 32 years in Hobart, IN. He also worked at the US Steel Mills during his time off from teaching. Kenneth was active in the Lions Club and JC’s Club in Hobart. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hobart.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Borchelt; brothers, Don, Ray, and Wally Borchelt; and sisters, Lucy and Eileen.

He is survived by his sons, James and Dan (Sylvia) Borchelt; daughter, Sharon (Carl) Hall; son, Ted Borchelt; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Carrie and Marty.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. David Mills, with burial the following day in Marion National Veteran Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
