Obituary for Anna Isabella Bachmann
Anna Isabella Bachmann passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by family and friends on the morning of Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025. Her death followed a courageous battle with cancer, which she fought with grace and vigor.
Anna was born on December 10th, 2000, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to parents Joy Bachmann (neè Moore) and Andrew Bachmann. Anna graduated from Hobart High School, in Hobart, Indiana, in 2019 and went on to pursue her dream of a degree in animation from Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in animation in 2023.
Anna was a wildly talented artist who loved to draw highly personal themes that mixed serious elements of her own life experience with her own brand of razor-sharp humor. She had the ability to create work that could, simultaneously, make you laugh and bring you to tears.
She loved to spend time with family, engaging in light-hearted banter with her many cousins, spending time with her sister Zoe and exchanging loving dialog with her younger sister Lily. Even when she was feeling under the weather, she was never one to miss an opportunity to gather with family and genuinely enjoyed the company of those whom she held dear.
When not in the company of family, Anna loved hanging out with friends. Over the course of her life, Anna forged deep and meaningful connections, from early childhood and on through her college years. She truly came out of her shell when she was in the company of her tight-knit community of friends and was deeply loved by all whom she touched.
Anna is survived by her loving parents, Joy Bachmann (neè Moore) and Andrew Bachmann, her older sister Zoë Bachmann, her younger sister Lily Bachmann and brother-in-law Isaac Huntoon. She also leaves behind grandparents Bruce Moore, Janice Bachmann and George Bachmann, who love her dearly. Additionally, adoring aunts Lesley Mancilla and Heidi Solano and uncle, Kent Moore. She will be greatly missed by her many cousins, including Hayden, Nicholas and Cooper Mancilla, Jacoby and Wyatt Moore and Laurelin Solano. She is preceded in death by her doting grandmother, Phyllis Moore.
A celebration of Anna’s life will be held at Hobart Community Center 111 E. Old Ridge Rd. Hobart, Indiana 46342 on Sunday, December 14th, 2025, from 12pm-4pm.
