Donnie Covington Obituary
Donnie Wesley Covington, 76, of Valparaiso, passed away on June 30, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born on December 15, 1947, in Martin, Tennessee, to Robert Wesley and Lillie Mae (Johnson) Covington. On February 5, 1972 he married the love of his life, Joy Toth. He owned and operated Valparaiso Seamless Gutters since 1976 and Valparaiso Aluminum Products. He also worked as an electrician at Bethlehem Steel for 35 years and was a U.S. Army veteran. Donnie was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Valparaiso and the United Steel Worker’s Union 6787.
He is survived by his wife Joy Covington; children Kimberley (Kelly) Weideman, Donnie W. (Stefanie Cece) Covington Jr., Rebecca (Carl) Oscar, and William “Andy (Alison) Covington; and brother James D. “Doug” (Mary) Covington. He is also survived by his grandchildren Christopher, Jon, Jerritt, Patrick, Amanda, Olivia, Abigail, Samuel, Bailey, Carl, Jada, Oliver, Leo and great grandchild Payton. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Barbara J. Covington.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Valparaiso starting at 10:00 AM until the time of the service noon. Pastor Andrew Fields will officiate. Donnie will be remembered most for being the family man he was and a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.
