Ruth is survived by her daughters: Lisa M. Campbell and Robin L. Shultz (nee Elliott); great-grandsons: Layne and Luka Mileski; sister-in-law, Lynn Vesely; her many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori J. Campbell; grandson, Aaron Jessie Shultz; and parents: Kenneth Stephens and Iris Stephens; sisters: Betty J. Sievert and Mary Lou Kolczak; brothers: Kenneth U. Stephens and Jerry P. Stephens; nephew, Jeffrey D. Kolczak; and her significant other, Robert (Bob) H. Lavender.

Ruth was raised in Hobart, IN and was a graduate of Hobart High School, Class of 1962. She worked for many years as the Office Manager for Lavender & Associates. Ruth was also an Indiana Licensed Real Estate Broker for 35 years. Ruth enjoyed reading books by Lisa Jackson, watching NCIS and Hot in Cleveland on TV, going for casual rides, gardening and visiting with her family and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Lily Cremation & Burial in Portage, IN.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Ruth's name to Hobart Humane Society.
