Debra Ann Stanton (Lisle), age 68, of Hobart, IN, passed away on October 19, 2025. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Michael Stanton; children Jessica (Nicholas) Riccio, and Olen Stanton; granddaughter Olivia Riccio, and brothers Bruce (Mary) Lisle & Jerry (Christine) Lisle. Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Pearl Lisle, and brother Donald Lisle Jr.

Born on January 13, 1957, Debbie spent much of her early life in Highland, IN, graduating from Highland High School in 1975. After moving to Hobart and starting a family of her own, she dedicated many years to working at Ridge View Elementary. Later in life, she and her husband embarked on a new adventure, purchasing and operating the Town Pub in Lowell, IN. Throughout her many roles, she was a true force. Those who knew her will always remember her quick wit and dedication to everything she had her hands in.

Her life was recently graced with its newest, most cherished title: Nana. Though their time together was cut short, she was overjoyed to hold and love her new grandchild, a fulfillment she had long looked forward to and instantly cherished.

A true lover of the natural world, Debbie spent much of her time tending to her plants and nurturing the natural beauty of our world. Indoors, she had her hands busy turning the pages of a new mystery book, crafting, or making her famous chocolate turtle treats around Christmas time. Debbie was meant to be a mother. Her children have fond memories of her making their childhood special, something she extended to all of the neighborhood kids as she created a welcoming space for those who came her way.

Debbie is remembered for her fierce independence, selflessness, and unconditional devotion to those she loved. To know her was to love her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hobart Humane Society or the Hobart Food Pantry in her honor.
