Andrew James Strayer, age 46, of DeMotte, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

Andrew was born on July 19, 1979, in Hobart, Indiana, the son of James and Patricia (Miner) Strayer. He was a 1998 graduate of Hobart High School, where he excelled as an all-area football player. Andrew later completed his ironworking apprenticeship through Ivy Tech College and proudly worked as a member of the Local 395 Ironworkers Union.

A lifelong football fan, Andrew carried his love for the game well beyond his high school years and especially enjoyed cheering on the Chicago Bears.

Andrew is survived by his parents, James and Patricia Strayer; his brother, Doug (Melissa) Strayer; and his sister, Rebecca Strayer. He is also survived by his cherished nieces and nephews: Ann Marie, Steven, Emily, Ava, Colin, and Aubrey.

All services for Andrew will be private, with cremation to follow.
