Stephan (Stevie, Jake) Dubovich - Class Of 2020

NOTE: Stephan transferred to Wheeler HS his junior year.

OBITUARY FROM KOSAKE FUNERAL HOME (KOUTS, IN) VIA ANGELCREST WEBSITE:

Stephan Jacob Dubovich (known as Stevie or Jake) born November 13, 2000 of Valparaiso, Indiana suddenly left this world on June 12, 2026. Throughout his entire life he remained extremely close to his Grandfather and namesake Stephan (Debra) Dubovich. When he was little, Grandpa called him “my little buddy” until Stephan grew taller than his grandfather and became simply “Buddy” or “Bud”.

Stephan Jacob leaves behind two amazing beautiful young daughters: Delilah Grace Dubovich and Daisy Mae Dubovich, who were the light of his life. Their Mother, Skyler Logan, and Stephan Jacob spent many years together. He was a deeply devoted hands-on father who simply adored his babies.

Stephan Jacob has a younger brother, Nicholas Alexander Dallas and was a “brother cousin” to Noelle Hill, Madeline Hill, Tobias (Austin) Hilvey and Dylan Hill all of whom he was incredibly close. He also grew up with Raymond Alan Curry and Tyler James Curry, with whom he remained connected, along with their other family members. He was especially close to his aunt, Reva J. Hill, of whom he considered a second mother.

He is survived by his mother, Charity Kirylczuk and her husband Shaun Kirylczuk of Branson, Missouri. He never had the opportunity to know his father, Raymond Arnold Jr., who died shortly after Stephan Jacob was born.

Stephan Jacob is grieved by his Aunt Joanne Hatton and his cousins, Lauren, Rachel and Sarah Hatton, all from Austin, Texas. He is also survived by his great grandmother, Joan F. Lynch, of Valparaiso, Indiana, and a very large and extended family with whom he celebrated holidays, special occasions, and life in general.

Stephan Jacob lettered in wrestling at Hobart High School before transferring to Wheeler High School his Junior year. He was a proud member of the Carpenter and Millwright Union and was an extremely hard worker always working extra shifts to provide for his growing family. He also knew about everything and could fix anything mechanical. Never needing to read directions, he could simply look at things and put them together.

He had attended St. Mary’s Church (Kouts) where he had received the sacraments and had been an alter server. In addition, he continued to read the bible. A copy of the Lord’s Prayer was in his vehicle when he tragically died.

Stephan Jacob’s passing from this world leaves a gaping, pervading emptiness piercing the lives of all he touched. He will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be at Kosanke Funeral Home in Kouts, Indiana on Wednesday, June 17 2026 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic church (Kouts, Indiana) on June 18, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
