When Elsie Linnea Sandstrom was born on 29 September 1913, in Hobart, Ross Township, Lake, Indiana, United States, her father, Oscar Frank Sandstrom, was 25 and her mother, Emma Amalia Bäckström, was 29. She lived in Louisville, Jefferson, Kentucky, United States in 1935 and Aberdeen, Brown, South Dakota, United States in 1940. She died in February 1962, in San Diego, Metapán, Santa Ana, El Salvador, at the age of 48, and was buried in San Diego, San Diego, California, United States.
