OBITUARY FROM THE NORTHWEST INDIANA TIMES (April 20, 2009)

Allen Schweitzer, age 57 of Portage, IN passed away Saturday, April 19, 2009. He was born on March 9, 1952 in Gary, IN to the late Albert and Helen Schweitzer. Allen was a longtime Portage resident and a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Hobart.

He is survived by one aunt, Jane C. Yacko of Hobart, IN; cousins: Nicholas (Patricia) Yacko of Portage, IN, David (Marilena) Yacko of Frankfort, IL, Mark Yacko of Chicago, IL, Ted (Karen) Cieslak of IL, Carol (Dwayne) Durfee of Portage, IN, Joanne (Jerry) Rice of FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Helen Schweitzer and one uncle, Ted Cieslak.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Allen's honor may be made to St. Stephens Episcopal Church. Funeral services are Monday, April 20, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 1360 State Street, Hobart with Rev. John Blakslee officiating.
